Overview

As an advisor and product designer for Gladys, a Kenyan fintech startup, I worked with the CEO and team for two years to develop digital financial services for the country. The platform allows users to pay for things using their phones, providing basic banking services and loans in the long term.

Solutions

I designed and provided all product design work for both iOS and Android consumer apps, featuring digital wallets, transaction histories, and split bill features. For the merchant side of the business, I designed a dashboard product as web-based software to handle banking, deposits, invoicing, bill payments, and payroll for local businesses and merchants. To ensure efficiency and consistency throughout the development process, I created the entire design system of components for the engineering team to use.

Results

With the launch approaching, the Gladys platform will revolutionized financial services in Kenya, becoming known as the "Venmo" of the country. The consumer apps and merchant dashboard have received positive feedback for their intuitive user experience and seamless transaction flow. Overall, my contributions have added significant business value to Gladys, showcasing the importance of design in developing fintech products.
