Overview
As the Lead Product Designer at Marqeta for nearly 4 years, I was responsible for designing and executing end-to-end experiences for multiple products, including analytics, reporting, and BI applications, Marqeta.com, program dashboard (B2B admin software), internal team tools/apps, and mobile apps. As the first designer at the company, I shaped all aspects of our digital product experiences and led the creation of the Marqeta UI/UX design system, a React-based library for company-wide product design practice and software development life cycle. I spent the majority of my time at Marqeta as a solo designer, working on solving unique Fintech challenges and leading design for new features across the platform and new strategic opportunities and verticals.
Solutions
To meet the unique challenges of a growing startup, I developed and executed a user-centric design approach that focused on creating intuitive, easy-to-use experiences that helped drive business growth. I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, and engineers, to create a design system that aligned with the company's goals and values. My leadership in developing the Marqeta UI/UX design system helped to establish a consistent and cohesive design language across all of our products, making it easier for users to navigate and use our platform.
Business impact
Through my work, I was able to significantly improve the user experience of Marqeta's products, helping to drive customer satisfaction and business growth. I played a key role in the successful launch of several new products and features which received positive feedback from users and helped to increase customer engagement.
